             Born into a typically Marwari family from Calcutta, decoration and presentation of gifts and food, as well as table décor was always an integral part of Shirika’s household. And this is where her love for all things pretty began! What began as packing gifts for family and friends gradually turned into a profession as the word spread. Shirika realized  she had an eye to spot beautiful things and a knack to source them at good prices. She decided to start a venture of customizing  gifts for various occasions to suit her clients’ needs, while also suiting their budgets. Her business started with baby announcements which continues to be her favourite till date.  Having always worked from home, Shirika’s main challenge was lack of space and not having a retail outlet.                                             Turtle Box was born from the union of Ranita’s love for food and travel. Ranita comes from a fusion of two food cultures, being a Bengali married to a Punjabi. Daily experiments with food and tweaking old recipes is a daily affair in her kitchen. Having travelled the world with her job at McKinsey, Ranita was busy bringing up her kids in New Delhi when she felt the urge to do something new – and what could be more exciting than combining travel experiences with food? One sleepless night before Diwali, when the family was trying to decide what to gift friends for Diwali and didn’t want to get stuck with the usual mithai, chocolates and nuts, Ranita suddenly thought of Turkish sweets, and immediately had the urge to experiment. Komal Rustagi is an architect by profession. Space Design has been her passion and to create spaces that tell a story of either a brand or an individual has been the driving force for her to venture in to the field of interior design. She currently works as an interior architect specializing in Residential, Corporate and Retail interior spaces. The decision to become a mompreneur came about because Komal wished to manage both, her child and business, together. Even though this proved to be a challenge at times, the immense support from her husband and inspiration from other mums has made her enjoy and cherish this journey. One of the challenges Komal faces is that because of a hectic schedule she relies immensely on social media and word of mouth references.
