The idea of Gauri’s Treasures started while Gauri was living in Switzerland. She was looking for Indian handicrafts to decorate her home, but found that there was a lack of such products. So, she decided to bring the East to the West.  In 2003, she began by carrying beautiful Indian handicrafts and similar goods to customers in Switzerland. Soon the demand started for customized and curated products. That is when Gauri’s Treasures was born. In 2006 when her children were born, Gauri decided to continue being a mompreneur so that she could strike a balance between home and work. One of the main challenges Gauri faced was importing the same business model as a personal shopper for customized home décor solutions in India. Most people didn’t understand the concept of personal shopping, especially for home décor products. Gauri had the task of differentiating several times between a reseller and herself.
