Kanika Birla & Cohoma Coffee

Image
It was her decade long career in finance, consulting, and the development sector which made Kanika realise how much she enjoyed creating and implementing something from end-to-end. The next step was to start a venture where she could plan, create, and scale from the ground up. Cohoma Coffee was a manifestation of that.  Kanika and her husband Paritosh, have always been coffee lovers and enjoy experimenting with different coffee flavours. They decided to take this love for coffee to the next level and venture into specialty coffees. As a business decision too this made sense, with India being among the largest producers of coffee in the world. Kanika discovered that while till recently, most of this was exported, domestic consumption of coffee had risen exponentially over the last few years. As awareness and exposure increased so did people’s demands for an authentic coffee experience. The problem was most people had no clue where to look for such an experience.  Making a

Karishhma Arora and Arshiv & I

Image
When the lockdown happened in 2020, Karishhma’s biggest concern was how to keep her three-year-old productively occupied. She explored a number of options but couldn’t find something which involved learning in a creative fun-filled way. Thus, was born Arshiv & I; an attempt to home school her toddler. After a few discussions with the Montessori teachers, Karishhma put together a preschool binder for her son, which was highly appreciated by a group of friends. With less than a year into the enterprise, Karishhma is launching a new product almost every month. Despite the apprehension of starting a new venture, the journey has been remarkably smooth. Himani Dalmia & Gentle Baby Sleep India (GBSI)

Image
Himani has been researching and helping parents with baby sleep voluntarily for the last five years. Her journey started when her firstborn, Devika, turned four months old. Himani began to read books and articles about baby sleep to try to find a way to deal with the seemingly endless sleepless nights that accompanied a newborn and educating herself about sleep science and sleep philosophies. Being a member of several parenting groups on Facebook, she found that mothers frequently posted about their children’s sleep “problems”, which she answered regularly. Himani noticed that though there were a number of groups focused on breastfeeding, baby-wearing, gentle parenting, early childhood development and feeding solids, there was no group specifically dedicated to baby sleep, even though sleep is as important as food for a baby and managing a baby’s developing sleep abilities does not necessarily come instinctively.
