Priya Tulshan and StudioPSD

Prior to getting married, Priya and her husband Vidhit had a graphic design and printing company which primarily did corporate printing and advertising. Priya lacked a professional background in this field, however designing her own wedding card and all its collaterals, made her realize her newfound interest in events and design. This business allowed her to explore her potential in this arena and thus came about the graphic design company- Print Solutions Design (PSD)

Priya discovered that friends and family would often ask her to create gift cards and other personal stationery for them. Each time she would want to make something new that would be curated to the person’s individual needs and personality. This is when Priya and the team decided to work on a set of 10-15 new designs and produce them in bulk to gain economies of scale.

They then carved out a new company- StudioPSD that now has more than 100 designs and a range of products for kids and adults available for personalization for all occasions. Each year, they continue to add on new designs and products based on client feedback, requests and Priya’s biggest inspiration- her kids’ requests!

Having done her Master’s in Business, Priya always had a drive to have her own business and being able to pursue the same in a fun and creative field was ideal. With each new wedding, birthday or milestone event in the family, Priya would get excited to try out new designs and explore new things that could work for StudioPSD. Her passion continues to grow along with each new project and every collection.

Priya has two kids, 10 and 6 years old who are the light of her life. She considers herself lucky to have a husband and family who have always supported her throughout her journey; from taking a break when each of her kids was born, to going on holidays, to pushing her to discover new avenues when she felt things were stagnating.

However, Priya says mom-guilt has been one of her toughest challenges to overcome. Before the lockdown she would try to finish her work before the kids came home from school, but there were always days where she needed to work late and that led to missing playdates, birthdays or just being around at home.

The lockdown brought its own set of challenges. While Priya was able to spend more time with the kids, homeschooling and entertaining them was now an equal priority along with keeping the business going. Over time Priya has been able to juggle family and work but mom guilt is a something which often cannot be avoided!

Priya loves experimenting with healthy recipes, spending time with family and exploring Pinterest. She is passionate about travelling and exploring new locales.
