Divya Bawa and The Story Band

Image
Divya believes that the story of her foray into education is an example of the power of the universe and the fact that when God has made one destined for something, that dream should be chased. It was at a friend’s birthday lunch at the India Habitat Centre, chatting with some friends, when Divya got to know that there was an opening in a playschool. Divya, at this time, was busy studying for her CA finals and wanted a break from her routine. The thought of being a substitute teacher in a playschool for a couple of days appealed to her. She had no idea that this one step was taking her towards her calling. A couple of days turned into a month and soon Divya was offered a contract for working in the school. She wanted to grab the opportunity! Her family couldn’t understand the drastic change in career but they supported her because it was evident that Divya felt passionately about this. After working in playschools for some time, Divya realized she wanted forma

Face yoga happened to Ruchika by chance. She suffered from an issue called TMJ, which happens due to frequent grinding of teeth, or by stress which causes us to clench our jaw. Ruchika was suffering since months with this condition. One day, while searching online for a natural cure for TMJ, Ruchika came across the concept of face yoga. She found it fascinating and started researching its various benefits. Ruchika went on to look up courses related to it and enrolled herself. Thus began her journey of building a knowledge base about face yoga and today she is a certified face yoga trainer. Ruchika always had a desire to be financially independent; something she feels is a must for all women. It only provided her with ample time to enroll  i

Priya lacked a professional background in this field, however designing her own wedding card and all its collaterals, made her realize her newfound interest in events and design. This business allowed her to explore her potential in this arena and thus came about the graphic design company- Print Solutions Design (PSD)   Priya discovered that friends and family would often ask her to create gift cards and other personal stationery for them. Each time she would want to make something new that would be curated to the person’s individual needs and personality. This is when Priya and the team decided to work on a set of 10-15 new designs and produce them in bulk to gain economies of scale. They then carved out a new company- StudioPSD that now has more than 100 designs and a range of products for kids and adults avail

Radhika Arora and Spicy Herbs

Radhika’s maternal grandmother was known for her culinary skills. This art was passed on to her daughter, Radhika’s mom who is said to be the best cook in their family and among her friends’ circle. Radhika considers herself fortunate that these skills were further passed on to her. From the time she was a teenager, Radhika was involved in the family business of books, specifically managing the children’s section of the bookstores. This, along with being a mom to two kids and the working hours at the store, was not an easy balancing act, yet one she did with aplomb.  A few years ago, looking at her passion for cooking, Radhika’s mother and brother encouraged her to start a food business of her own. Her first order was by her brother’s friend. She catered to his Diwali party which was a huge success. There was no looking back after that. The phenomenal response that Radhika received after the party set her thinking and she realized that she would be happy taking it a st
