Vandana Verma & Confident Speakers

            Vandana is a graduate in English (Hons.) and started her journey as a counsellor for an American company called Power Speakers.  When Vandana joined the company, she started taking initiatives by conducting classes as an instructor in addition to her usual duties. This was when she realised, she had passion for teaching, alongside tremendous hidden energy which she could use in her classes with children. Her passion was reflected in the fact that children started to love her sessions and her role grew from a center head to an instructor as well.   Over time the owners of Power Speakers decided to shut shop because of other commitments. Vandana was really enjoying her work and at the urging of her husband, she made an offer to the owner and took over the company along with her partner. Verticka Kohli & Book-a-Star

        Verticka hails from a publishing background and books are something she has grown up surrounded by. Reading was her foremost hobby and an integral part of her childhood. Verticka always wanted to instill  a similar love for books and reading in her children. As her elder son was growing up, she was very particular about giving him age-appropriate books which were engaging. Because it was tough to judge which ones were the best just by their covers, Verticka leveraged her father’s contacts to get  books on  approval and sent back what she didn’t want. This turned out to be extremely time consuming. Soon, Verticka was recommending books to other mothers in her circle. And this where the idea of curating and customizing  age appropriate and engaging books for kids was born.
