Tanvi Sharma and The Oia Life

Image
Tanvi always wanted to work independently and be an entrepreneur. The desire to create something that she could call hers was strong within her. Tanvi spent around 10 years working in the corporate sector. Looking back, she believes that while she learned a tremendous amount during her tenure there, she also found it restricting her potential in many ways. Somewhere deep down she knew, that she would one day be running her own business. Tanvi decided to put all the plans on hold after her son was born and took a sabbatical from work. Then the pandemic hit.   The first year went into readjusting their lives and coping with the new normal. In June 2021, Tanvi decided to take the initiative and follow her dreams. And so Tanvi the mompreneur was born! Tanvi has always been fascinated with jewellery. She recalls choosing her first pair of earrings when she was barely 10 years old. She still remembers the smile on...

Sonakshi Gulati Kakkar & Budding Box

Image
Sonakshi has been an Early Years Educator for over 8 years now. It was a fortunate quirk of fate which made her a teacher; something she is eternally grateful for. Sonakshi discovered her love and passion for teaching little ones; something which has only grown since then. In 2015 Sonakshi started Budding Box. Budding Box is an activity center that facilitates active learning for children through ‘play’, proven to be the foundation of holistic development. The center indulges in hands-on learning and believes in ‘Teach me and I remember, involve me and I learn.’ Over the years she has taught more than 100 children and says nothing is more satisfying than watching them learn and grow. During the first lockdown as learning shifted online, Sonakshi started curating different bundles which included interactive activities that parents can do with their child...

Ria was always inclined towards the creative field since she was a young girl. Whether it was dance, theatre, music or arts, her name was always on the list of participants. This hasn’t changed since then. Even though Ria took up Science in school, academics was not much of a passion of her. When it came to choosing a subject for graduation, she applied to both medicine and design schools and got accepted to both. Eventually, Ria decided to follow her heart and opted to study design. There has been no looking back after that! Today, Ria is a proud and successful Graphic Designer. After graduation Ria joined an Engineering based company and an Advertising company to garner field knowledge while simultaneously freelancing as a graphic designer through word-of-mouth publicity.  She continued with freelance work after her marriage and only took a sabbatical when she was expecting her first child. But her passion for all things related to designin...

Prachi Kumar and Walk-In Closets

Image
Prachi always had an interest in getting customized  clothes stitched for herself. From choosing the fabric to selecting the designs and patterns to approving the final product; she loved every aspect of seeing how raw fabric was converted into beautiful clothing. Eventually she began exploring the idea of starting her own venture in this field. Clothes were something that were always in demand and more and more people wanted to customize  what they wore rather than pick it off the rack. Five years ago, Prachi decided to take the plunge and start her business. She took a year off in between for her delivery but the urge to get back into the thick of business never left her. She also was determined to be a mompreneur because it allowed her to be a hands-on mom. One of the biggest challenges Prachi faced was that she was new to this field. Apart from her own experience in ...
