Prachi Kumar and Walk-In Closets
Prachi always
had an interest in getting customized clothes stitched for herself. From
choosing the fabric to selecting the designs and patterns to approving the
final product; she loved every aspect of seeing how raw fabric was converted
into beautiful clothing. Eventually she began exploring the idea of starting
her own venture in this field. Clothes were something that were always in
demand and more and more people wanted to customize what they wore rather than
pick it off the rack.
Five years ago, Prachi decided to take the plunge and start her business. She took a year off in between for her delivery but the urge to get back into the thick of business never left her. She also was determined to be a mompreneur because it allowed her to be a hands-on mom.
One of the biggest challenges Prachi faced was that she was new to this field. Apart from her own experience in buying and getting clothes made, she had no idea about the logistics and nitty-gritty involved in establishing a business. Learning social media was another challenge which she worked hard to overcome. Doing extensive research and spreading the word among friends and family finally helped her to market her brand. Today, Walk-In Closets has a range of customers, who further recommend the brand in their friend’s circle.
Walk-In Closets is now a multi-designer online store offering products ranging from Western wear to footwear to accessories.
Prachi wanted a name which sounded chic and at the same time conveyed clothing. Walk-In Closets is something which every woman could identify with and hence she chose this name.
Prachi is passionate about designing clothes, something which is clearly reflected in her products. Even though the business is now established and running smoothly, Prachi ensures she is involved in every aspect of it. She personally takes responsibility for what is created for her clients.
She has a son who is 2.7 years and who keeps her on her toes!
