The Baby First Box

One fine day two friends sat discussing their pregnancy days. They talked about the moments they enjoyed and the challenges they faced. They had an age difference of 2.5 years between their kids but found that the challenges they faced were similar. For instance, they had no clue what went into the hospital bag. From there a germ of an idea started and they ended up speaking to over 250 women across the nation ranging from those who were staying in nuclear families to first time moms to moms living in tier 1 & tier 2 cities. One of the biggest questions these women had was what exactly should be packed in the hospital bag. 

It is from here that these two friends decided to be a genie in the lives of countless moms and help them in packing the best for the arrival of their baby. 

And that very day “The Baby First Box” was born.

Their vision was that when a pregnant couple thought of packing their hospital bag they should automatically think about "The Baby First Box". The first box of motherhood that contained all the requisite essentials for both mom and baby. 

The two friends Garima Aggarwal and Deepti Gupta had over two decades of corporate experience. Being moms themselves, they felt qualified to understand what a new mother required when she stepped into a new and sometimes, overwhelming, phase of her life.  They decided to use their education, experience and abilities to make a difference to the concept of motherhood. In essence, they became mompreneurs.

The journey of entrepreneurship wasn’t easy. It was just the two of them who handled everything from finding vendors to website building, finding customers to marketing. Looking back, even though it took them time to understand this cycle, they feel that it also provided them with a tremendous amount of learning as well as a better understanding about their own product.

Apart from work and bringing up their kids, Garima loves reading and music while Deepti is a creative by heart. She enjoys reading about health and lifestyle as well as holistic living and early learning. 

Garima has a daughter who is three years old while Deepti’s daughter is almost six years old. They are thankful to their children for having been the inspiration for their delightful business.
