Ankita Gupta- The Person Behind New Age Mompreneurs
Ankita Gupta started Mamma’s Kitchen to provide healthy and tasty baked goods to people across all ages. Being a big foodie, she’s always had an interest in cooking and baking. In pre Covid times, Ankita loved hosting parties and get-togethers and was used to cooking and baking desserts for house parties which sometimes went up to 30-40 people. Experimenting with food is her forte. She would pick a new recipe every time and tweak it, replacing the unhealthy ingredients with healthy ones. Needless to say, her guests loved her efforts and the food.
When Ankita was trying to conceive, she discovered she had
PCOS which was hindering the process. It was then that she switched completely
from junk food to healthy cooking alternatives. When her twins were born, she
followed the one year no sweet and salt rule for them but the entire family has
a sweet tooth and Ankita didn't want the kids to miss out on the delights of
desserts. This is where her healthy baking journey began.
Ankita soon discovered that her twins loved the healthy baked
goodies she would make. She started baking for all special occasions, playdates
and gatherings. According to her, the best part would be the surprise on
people's faces when she told the healthy ingredients used in the baked
products- most people often believe that healthy stuff can't taste good! Ankita’s
passion grew with time and with each new recipe, though she never visualized
baking professionally.
With the lockdown, not only did life come to a halt but so
did Ankita’s plans of returning to work. As weeks went by, she found herself
getting frustrated and disheartened. It was then that her husband and she
decided to turn her passion for healthy baking into a career. The added benefit
was seeing kids and adults enjoy her products, knowing that they were filled
with goodness and health.
Mamma’s Kitchen has products that are reasonably priced,
because Ankita believes that healthy eating isn’t just something to be tried
out on occasions but should actually be a part and parcel of our daily lives.
Her cookies, cupcakes and granola are all made with natural sweeteners and
healthy flours. She also has delightful baking kits which make for a wonderful
activity for kids.
Ankita is also the founder of 3G which is a community for
expat women (https://lbb.in/delhi/womens-expat-group-eats-meets-greets-together/) as well as the South Delhi
Playdates Group, aimed at bringing together moms and kids for social meetings (https://www.momspresso.com/parenting/the-referee-mom/article/the-south-delhi-playdates-group)
Recently she has started a group called New Age Mompreneurs,
which brings together a group of talented and diverse mothers who are successfully
running their own businesses. The group currently has 31 members and is growing
