Ria Chharia Tibrewal and Bee Works

         


Ria was always inclined towards the creative field since she was a young girl. Whether it was dance, theatre, music or arts, her name was always on the list of participants. This hasn’t changed since then. Even though Ria took up Science in school, academics was not much of a passion of her. When it came to choosing a subject for graduation, she applied to both medicine and design schools and got accepted to both. Eventually, Ria decided to follow her heart and opted to study design. There has been no looking back after that! Today, Ria is a proud and successful Graphic Designer.

After graduation Ria joined an Engineering based company and an Advertising company to garner field knowledge while simultaneously freelancing as a graphic designer through word-of-mouth publicity.  She continued with freelance work after her marriage and only took a sabbatical when she was expecting her first child. But her passion for all things related to designing continued and with the help of her family’s support, she launched her own business and so Bee Works came into existence.

One of the primary challenges Ria faced was juggling a baby, a new business and a family. She wanted to be a hands-on mom while simultaneously ensuring that the quality of work didn’t suffer.

 
Ria discovered a system whereby she could allocate her personal and professional time into slots to try and achieve some kind of balance. Being meticulous by nature, Ria ensured that if a client had a deadline, she would meet it, even if it meant staying up at night to do it. Ria takes great pains to understand each client’s vision and deliver the product in accordance with that. Over time this has resulted in her getting high ratings by loyal clients who further recommend her to friends and family.

Ria has always been fascinated by bees. She looks upon them as extremely hardworking, diligent and having a strong work ethic. When it came to choosing a name for her business, these were the qualities she wanted to convey. Ria also believes in working hard and yet taking out the time to enjoy the pleasures of life. Bee Works was an ideal name to convey all the attributes that Ria believed in.

Ria loves to let her hair down and enjoy. She enjoys dancing, listening to music, singing, watching movies and travelling. She has a three-year-old daughter with whom she shares her love for everything beautiful and artistic.

                     Anu had always been inclined towards sketching, drawing and painting since her childhood while her mother was inclined towards clothes and fashion. So, it was no surprise when Anu ended up taking fashion design as a subject in 11 th grade. Anu always had a lot of questions in her mind. What was she here? What was the purpose of her life?                       From the time she completed her fashion course at Parsons, Chitwan knew that designer clothing was the line she wanted to get into. She started with womenswear in 2011 and then ventured into menswear in 2016. Whenever Chitwan visited the fabric markets for men’s fabrics, she would find herself staring at the cute kids’ fabrics and would wish that she could do something in that line. She would pick up fabrics for her son’s nightwear and shirts and they turned out really well; every time he wore them, her family would encourage her to consider venturing into this as a side business and gauge the response. Chitwan began small in 2020 and then there was no looking back. This isn’t a side business anymore. Chitwan is extremely passionate about it and doing kids' wear in particular makes her extremely happy. Moreover, she has discovered a staunch support system in the form of her mommy clients. It helps that Chitwan considers entrepreneurship to be in her blood.
