Shirika Bansal & Shreem Creations

Born into a typically Marwari family from Calcutta, decoration and presentation of gifts and food, as well as table décor was always an integral part of Shirika’s household. And this is where her love for all things pretty began! What began as packing gifts for family and friends gradually turned into a profession as the word spread.

Shirika realized she had an eye to spot beautiful things and a knack to source them at good prices. She decided to start a venture of customizing gifts for various occasions to suit her clients’ needs, while also suiting their budgets. Her business started with baby announcements which continues to be her favourite till date.

Having always worked from home, Shirika’s main challenge was lack of space and not having a retail outlet. This was eventually what made her foray into a wholesale model. How much time to commit to the business was something she needed to figure out. Networking and how to exhibit were some of the other challenges she faced. Shirika considers herself lucky to have found the support she needed to make her venture a success.

The name Shreem was chosen to represent Goddess Lakshmi. I wanted the name to convey the concepts of beauty, elegance, grandeur and happiness that resonated with the products offered.

Shirika has a 10-year-old son and enjoys reading, connecting to different spiritual modalities and meditation.
