Ridhima Kansra and My Laundry Bag
Laundry Bag was Ridhima’s first baby. The concept was created after Ridhima discovered how difficult it was to find good quality premium dry-cleaning services, especially for clothes which were expensive and held special memories. The local dry cleaners lacked the knowledge and the major chains were too expensive to use regularly. She created Laundry Bag to fill this gap; a place where great quality and care met affordable prices.
The moment Ridhima
decided to venture into this field, Laundry Bag was the first name that came to
her mind and it just clicked. She wanted the name to conjure up an image of
dumping clothes in a laundry bag and giving it a wash- signifying the quick and
easy solutions that were to be the USP of Laundry Bag!
Ridhima’s biggest challenge was the newness of the field. She
had to undertake extensive research to gain an understanding of the process of dry cleaning, machines and
chemicals used, etc. Thankfully her business partner came with a wealth of
knowledge since his family had been running a dry-cleaning set-up for over two
decades. Within three months of starting Laundry Bag, Ridhima discovered she
was pregnant and was advised bed rest for almost the entire duration of her
pregnancy. She had to e-manage the entire operation which was another major
challenge.
As a mother of two and a
mompreneur, Ridhima doesn’t have much time for hobbies. However, she loves to
write in both Hindi and English. She has published a book on Hindi poetry in
conjunction with her mother and grandmother- a unique three-generation book!
Ridhima also enjoys cooking and experimenting with new dishes and meeting up
with friends.
She has twins- a boy and
a girl who are almost two years old.
