From the time she was a child, Samriti could never imagine being anything but a jeweller. Her sister and she spent countless weekend evenings at the family jewellery store, fascinated by the sparkle of diamonds, the plethora of coloured stones and the gorgeous jewellery. Samriti fell in love with jewellery during these hours.

After marriage she wanted to start something of her own in this field. She had some ideas of an online jewellery platform but when she ran the idea by her family they weren’t convinced. Jewellery has always traditionally been something which people like to touch, feel, try on and then buy. Besides which, most people had family jewellers whom they had been going to since years. How would an online platform be able to cater to that need?

However, Samriti persevered and succeeded in opening her online jewellery platform called EJewellery By-RBJ. Her first product was sold after 16 days of opening their studio when a client from Hyderabad ordered online. Since then, the platform has grown tremendously. From the beginning, Samriti ensured she posted the prices of each product along with their pictures, to ensure transparency and comfort for her clients.

Samriti’s great grandfather started the family jewellery business four generations ago and at that time the store was named was Roshan di Haati (Roshan being her grandfather’s name).  When her dad started the wholesale business 35 years ago, he continued with the name continued with the name Roshan Bhai Jewellers (RBJ) to maintain the legacy of his grandfather.

When Samriti started she wanted the name to be continued as a tribute to the family legacy. And so EJewellery by RBJ was born. While RBJ continued to work in the wholesale market, EJewellery by RBJ focused on being an online platform.

Samriti’s hobbies include assorting diamonds, trying new recipes and painting. She has a three-year-old daughter who she hopes will inherit her passion for jewellery one day.

                     Anu had always been inclined towards sketching, drawing and painting since her childhood while her mother was inclined towards clothes and fashion.                       From the time she completed her fashion course at Parsons, Chitwan knew that designer clothing was the line she wanted to get into. She started with womenswear in 2011 and then ventured into menswear in 2016. Whenever Chitwan visited the fabric markets for men’s fabrics, she would find herself staring at the cute kids’ fabrics and would wish that she could do something in that line. She would pick up fabrics for her son’s nightwear and shirts and they turned out really well; every time he wore them, her family would encourage her to consider venturing into this as a side business and gauge the response. Chitwan began small in 2020 and then there was no looking back. This isn’t a side business anymore. Chitwan is extremely passionate about it and doing kids' wear in particular makes her extremely happy. Moreover, she has discovered a staunch support system in the form of her mommy clients. It helps that Chitwan considers entrepreneurship to be in her blood.
