Kritika and Smriti are trained professional Interior Designers. They always had a passion for creative products and curations. The journey to become a mompreneur was conceived when Kritika and Smriti came across the challenge of collecting products for gifting purposes from different brands and then putting them together in a presentable form. They began by having their friends and family to reach out to them for suggestions of appropriate gift ideas. As gift curators they realised that everyone valued their suggestions and found them so helpful that they wanted them to organise the complete curations.

Kritika and Smriti both have around 15 and 10 years of work experience respectively with architectural studios. In these roles they wore several hats in the arena of managing sales, customer relationships and overall design journeys for customers along with a team of designers and managers working under them.

One of the main challenges Kritika and Smriti faced was acceptance as an independent enterprise. They found that a lot of customers came with the impression that gift curation was just their hobby and not a full-time profession. Moreover, professionalism and work commitment were things that took years to build up among the customer base.

Today, The Embellishment Story has a set of customers who not only recommend them to their own friends and family but also highly recommend them on social media channels. With each successful recommendation, their confidence in their work and their love for it increases.

Kritika has always been a firm believer in detailing and crafting quality products.  She says "A need for developing a seamless journey in the Gifting industry with utmost detail and perfection gave birth to The Embellishment Story!"

Smriti on the other hand has always enjoyed curating gifts for friends and family and detailing out curations for every possible occasion. In her own words "This attracted me to step in this venture to enhance and make the Gifting industry seamless!”

The name ‘The Embellishment Story’ was chosen to convey to their customers the intricacy, thought and detailing that went into choosing the right gift curations according to their customer’s needs and vision.

The two friends enjoy a host of hobbies apart from their work. Kritika loves listening to music and dancing. She is a trained Jazz and Ballet dancer with Ashley Lobo. Her latest hobby is baking. She also enjoys experimenting with different decor themes from time to time in her home. Kritika has a 9-year-old son who is the joy and pride of her life.

Smriti is fond of dancing and has trained in several dance forms. She is also an avid reader and enjoys cooking occasionally. She has a 2-year-old son and he is the apple of her eye!

                     Anu had always been inclined towards sketching, drawing and painting since her childhood while her mother was inclined towards clothes and fashion. So, it was no surprise when Anu ended up taking fashion design as a subject in 11 th grade. Anu always had a lot of questions in her mind. What was she here? What was the purpose of her life? What could she do which would be different from the norm? She had a deep desire to prove something to herself. After completing her graduation, Anu took admission in Pearl Academy of Fashion for a one-year postgraduate course in Fashion Merchandising.                       From the time she completed her fashion course at Parsons, Chitwan knew that designer clothing was the line she wanted to get into. She started with womenswear in 2011 and then ventured into menswear in 2016. Whenever Chitwan visited the fabric markets for men’s fabrics, she would find herself staring at the cute kids’ fabrics and would wish that she could do something in that line. She would pick up fabrics for her son’s nightwear and shirts and they turned out really well; every time he wore them, her family would encourage her to consider venturing into this as a side business and gauge the response. Chitwan began small in 2020 and then there was no looking back. This isn’t a side business anymore. Chitwan is extremely passionate about it and doing kids' wear in particular makes her extremely happy. Moreover, she has discovered a staunch support system in the form of her mommy clients. It helps that Chitwan considers entrepreneurship to be in her blood.
